AGARTALA, Oct 25 (TIWN): DGP A K Sukla has advised the photographers, TV journalists and whoever from media are attending coverage of a protest or violence should not cross beyond the security zone.
The press conference was called at Police HQ for official distribution of jackets to the journalists, aiming for not repetition Sep 20's event with any other journalist of Tripura, when a TV journalist Santanu Bhowmik was killed in a political clash at Mandai.
"Stay with police. In that way, you are safe as well as you can also have the full view of the event. In this way the precaution matters can be taken cared", DGP told reporters here.
"When you are far from police, if anything happens to you, it's really tough to identify the situation and the investigation also becomes tough for police", DGP said.
Media asked the DGP, 'What about Police who also had beaten us on Sep 20 ??" In reply DGP said, "That's why the jacket has been provided now. From now, we can easily identify the journalists".
