'Tripura Police's power has been increased : Lathis are replaced with rifles' : Bijan Dhar

AGARTALA, Oct 7 (TIWN): Tripura CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar on Friday has claimed that state police's power have been increased after listening various complaints form police about their limited power.
"Police power need to be strengthened for law and order. Earlier, it was lathi but now rifles have been given to them".
"Earlier, the power was only used during counterattacking terrorists and Left front Govt didn't allowed police to use this power during Civil people's democratic movement. Now after listening that complain from police Left Front Govt has increased their power", said CPI-M State Secretary.
