Tripura celebrates Bengali-Renaissance figure Vidyasagar’s birth anniversary

AGARTALA, Sep 26 (TIWN): On the occasion of 197th birth anniversary of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar a colourful programme was conducted at Rabindra Bhawan.
Education Minister Tapan Chakrbaorty has addressed Agartala school students on that auspicious occasion.
That great person was born in 26th September 1820 & died on 29 July 1891
He was an Indian Bengali Polymath and a key figure of the Bengali Renaissance. He was a philosopher, academic educator, writer, translator, printer, publisher, entrepreneur, reformer, and philanthropist.
