AGARTALA, Sep 24 (TIWN): Opposition BJP has continued its demand for CBI investigation in Tripura journalist Santanu's murder case, who was killed in a CPI-M/ IPFT clash at Mandai on Sep-20.
A rally was conducted at Agartala by BJP demanding CBI inquiry in Santanu murder case. BJP activists also burnt Chief Minister Manik Sarkar's effigy at Agartala.
Earlier in a press conference BJP leader Subol Bhowmik said, "If investigation is not gone in proper manner we will disclose those names soon who are related to his murder, but now for the sake of investigation we are silent".
"Such clashes are generally covered by Kokborok based news media at first. But why only Santanu was called on the spot for the news coverage ? How before everyone Santanu was stretched to the jungle and brutally killed ?", said Bhowmik.
"Section 144 was already in action yesterday. Then how was he killed with sharp weapons before everyone ? This was a pre-planned cold blooded murder" added Bhowmik.
