AGARTALA, Sep 23 (TIWN): “If you dream that something will go wrong, you cannot impose restrictionsâ€, that's what Calcutta High Court had said West Bengal Govt when it imposed restrictions on Immersion of Durga idols on the day of Maharam. Calcutta High Court also warned the state govt not to use "extreme power without any basis". "Just because you are the state, can you pass arbitrary order?â€, the court further asked Mamata Banerjee. The same logic however applies in case of any shutdown including Tripura's ongoing internet shutdown too and a single individual's killing can never be reason of Riot, but it was clearly an attempt to save the killer Police and actual culprits.
Unless and until riot begins, terrorists attack the state, internet can not ordered for shutdown but Tripura Govt to down the voice for Santanu's protesters has gone its extreme limit by suspending internet for an uncertain period of times.
The IT Illiterate CPI-M Govt even though has failed to learn how to control Cyber Crime, or how to catch Cyber Criminals but cutting the internet across the state without any reason is simply an attempt to stay away from public anger, mass criticism.
The fascist CPI-M Govt even though talks about federalism and more power to states, but it has proven how much fascist the state govts can be if states are given more power.
The shutdown of internet have not only disconnected the people from the rest of their friend circles but also public are unable to transact money ahead of Durga puja.
Complaints are coming from locals of Dharmangar, Kamalpur, Belinia, Udaipur and various other places and resentment have brewed among the common people due to the imposing of internet shutdown among the common people.
This internet shutdown is not only illegal but Govt's attempt to snatch citizens' rights.
