AGARTALA, Sep 11 (TIWN): As per PM Modi suggested, now in admission procedures also instead of handicap / disable / specially able the ‘divyang’ term is being used across India.
Even in NIOS admission procedure also the term ‘divyang’ is now the only option at special category as SC / ST / OBC / Divyang.
When Prime Minister Narendra Modi had suggested that people with disabilities be called "divyang", he may have had the best intentions. The word invests bodies with holiness (sacred body), rather than the harsh "vikalang"
