KHUMLWNG, Aug 23 (TIWN): Decision of state administration to cancel IPFT’s rally proven as a correct decision as IPFT couldn’t leave their violent attitude even at Khumlwng. One police official was injured at Khumlwng at the end of the IPFT rally who is none other than DSP Tarun Debbarma. SP Abhijit Saptarshi said that strict actions to be taken against the culprits who did this mischievous act at Khumlwng.As per the report in the evening at Khumlwng, nearby the stadium some IPFT supporters had brutally attacked DSP Tarun Debbarma led him seriously injured. Right now he is admitted in GB Hospital. All high police officials are visiting at GB to see him as doctors have declared him as critical. IPFT had kicked off the bare body rally at Khumlwng on their Tipraland Day and a massive rally was conducted at Khumlwng in demand of a separate land called Tipraland only for tribals.
'Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) supporters walking in a procession through Khumlwng today created mayhem and lawlessness in larger part of the area', said SP. At the end of procession IPFT supporters attack security personal of ADC Chairman Dr Ranjit Debbarma in the evening near Thang Thang Bazar area.
Traun Debbarma was seriously wounded and the victim rushed to hospital for further treatment. Tension prevail in and around Khumlwng.
Since the morning huge number of young participants were seen going to join the rally at Khumlwng. But many youths were seen sitting on the roof of the vehicles, amid high speed.
A Amarpur, Udaipur, South and North Tripura--- all over the state CRPF, police were seen in maintaining the tight patrolling.
At Agartala Krishna Nagar area has kept under heavy security.
IPFT was to conduct the rally on Agust-23 at Agartala, but following IPFT's 10 day long blockade at National Highway and last year 2016's clashes among the Tribal and Bengalis have led the administration not to permit for IPFT's rally on 2017's same day.
At the end of the session, cancellation of IPFT’s rally at Agartala proven as a great decision taken by Tripura Police.
