AGARTALA, Aug 23 (TIWN): On specific intelligence input, troops of BSF alongwith local police and administration seized 333 kgs of Ganja worth Rs. 16, 65,000/- in two different drives.

At about 05:45 PM, in a joint operation by BSF, Civil Administration and Police party, comprising ofShri Md. Raja Alam, AC of BOP Mohanpur, 195 Bn BSF,ShriJayantaBhattacharjee, SDM along with 02 Officers and SI SumanMajumdar of PS-Sidhaiwith troops of BSF and Police seized 128 kgsof Ganja worth Rs.6,40,000/-. The Seized Ganja was handed over to Excise Department, Agartala.

In another drive jointly carried out by BSF and Police, at about 06:30 PM,ShriAmulChakroborty, SDPO of PS- Sonamura and Inspector Brij Mohan of BOP Matinagar, 74 Bn BSF along with troops of BSF and Police seized 205 kgsof Ganja worth Rs.10,25,000/-.
