AGARTALA, August 7 (TIWN): Three persons were arrested today in connection with the abduction of a 16-year-old girl who was recovered from Ashrampalli Rigadh area under Kumarghat Police Station yesterday at night around 12 am. As per the report, the commuters heard a reverberation from inside an Alto car standing by the road side at Ashrampalli Rigadh area bearing number TR 0E-0737.
They immediately called the police. Soon after getting the news, ASI Moti Malakar, Kumarghat PS along with police personnel rushed to the spot, recovered the girl and seized the car. Sources revealed that there were five persons along with the girl. Among the persons, the girl knew one and as that person asked her to go with him, she could not deny.
Police arrested 3 accused- Pulak Paul, son of Rajendra Paul, resident of Ratiabari; Pradip Kumar Roy (34), son of Hindugopal Roy from Melaghar and Sunil Debnath (30), son of Satish Debnath, hailing from North Pabiacherra and two others- Biswajit from Dharmanagar and Mohammad Parvez Ali of Sukantanagar is absconding yet.
The girl stated the victim, son of Honoyi Reang is the resident of 5-mile under Ambassa Police station and she knew one of the accused persons. Later on, police handed over the girl. If Ambassa PS takes any case regarding the incident, Kumarghat police will hand over the arrested accused to them.
