UDAIPUR, Aug 16 (TIWN): 15 BN Assam Rifles today observed the 71st Independence Day at Assam Rifles Public School(ARPS) at Udaipur. The Chief guest of the programme was OC 15 BN AR Udaipur, Capt. Amardeep Singh Rana. Other guests included JCO's and officers. Independence Day today was observed with different cultural programmes.
Early in the morning Capt Amardeep Singh hoisted the tri-coloured National Flag with the 15BN AR band playing the National Anthem . The welcome speech was given by a class 2 student Aarushi Sarkar. Principal of 15BN ARPS Mr Suman Bhattacharjee presided over the function.
In his speech Capt Singh urged the students to have ardent feeling of nationalism as the country is now facing all kinds of threats from all corners . He stressed that the emotion for which the freedom fighters and soldiers who laid down their lives , should not be forgotten . The students performed colourful cultural programme .
