AGARTALA/Baldahrkhal, Aug 13 (TIWN): A free medical camp has been organized by Tripura Health Unit at Agartala Badlarhkal area under West district at the flood -hit areas.
Heavy rainfall through out Agartala Municipality areas have displaced residents besides causing damage to thousands of hectares of standing crops.
A large number of flood affected people and sick persons were treated and free medicines were distributed at the health camp.
Some of the villages are still reeling under the inundated flood water. Few villagers have return to their respective village after the condition has returned to near normalcy.
According to Doctor water borne diseases are very common during floods.
The River Howrah is still flowing under danger level and the water level is now going in normal level steadily.
Flood water also submerged agriculture land and disrupted surface communication.
Many camps have been set up in and around West Tripura District. Relief materials are being distributed at flood hit areas.
Medical teams have also been deployed to prevent water borne diseases.
