AGARTALA, Aug 9 (TIWN): 4 Assam Rifles under the Aegis of 21 Sector Assam Rifles conducted a medical camp on Aug 9 at Thelakumvillage in Sepahijala district.
The camp attended by villagers from Thelakum and Jampuijala sub division was specially organised on the request of local people with an aim to provide free medical treatment to the local populace where requisite medical facilities are not available.
A total of 275 patients comprising 125 males, 104 females and 46 children were treated. Apart from providing medical assistance, basic knowledge on health education including precaution from common viral diseases was also imparted.
The people of Thelakum village expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the 4 Assam Rifles for this humanitarian act as befitting to their motto of being " Friends of the hill people "
