Minority Students' Union leader shot dead at Kokrajhar : Tripura minority held protest

AGARTALA, Aug 8 (TIWN): Assam-Tripura democratic co-ordination committee has shown agitation on Monday after President of All Bodo Minority Students' Union (ABMSU) Lafiqul Islam Ahmed (30) was shot dead on August 1st, 2017 in a crowded market of Titaguri by two motorcycle-borne masked men.
"We deeply condemn the incident done with the minority man", said the protesters.
Ahmed died on the spot after he was shot in the chest at close range while he was visiting the market.
The area where the crime took place falls is a sensitive Bodoland Territorial Autonomous Council (BTAC) region and falls under the jurisdiction of the Kokrajhar police station.
