UDAIPUR / AGARTALA, July 15 (TIWN): The different kind of Sun had created much curiosity, fear, anxiety as well as generated interest among the people of Tripura led various discussions on Alien-approaching towards earth kind of stories, sun-storm etc. Rumour has been spread across the state especially in the Gomati Dist that some aliens are attacking the earth followed by Western news about "Heavy Sun Storm" or "Solar Flares". Already among the children, social network rumour have been spread whereas scientists have stood against the rumours. Talking to Ayan Saha, Dist Science Forum coordinator (under Gomati Dist), he mentioned, "Today a halo around the sun was seen from some parts of Tripura. It's a purely atmospheric phenomenon......there is nothing like earthquake to come, nor any alien space craft, although several rumours have been spread out of anxiety. Actually it's a cirrus cloud which is a high altitude cloud above 2000 FT or above and this halo created by that particular colud. So there is nothing to fear".

Noteworthy : The most common form of high-level clouds are thin and often wispy cirrus clouds. Typically found at heights greater than 20,000 feet (6,000 meters),cirrus clouds are composed of ice crystals that originate from the freezing of supercooled water droplets.
