AGARTALA, June 24 (TIWN): With the special initiatives of Tripura opposition BJP, finally postal region will be in Agartala, the Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced.
It was a long cherished dream of Tripura BJP State President as the Passport office was, the Minister added.
In the last year on July 26, BJP state observer Sunil Deodhar and state president Biplab deb in a meeting with Manoj Sinha (MOS Railways) & (MOS Communication-independent charge) stressed upon changing of Regional Postal headquarter from Aizawl to Agartala.
This has been considered as a big achievement for Tripura as the Union Ministry of Postal service and communication has agreed with the demand of people, to shift the second postal HQ of Northeast to Agartala to Aizawl.
Previously, (20/7/2016) Biplab Deb wrote letter to Manoj Sinha regarding the said issue. This has been a long demand from a big section of people postal dept. employees in the state.
This step may increase opportunities for job in state and Tripura will be recognized with more importance in North East region, for having HQ for an important dept. of Central Govt.
