AGARTALA, June 23 (TIWN): "We'll not call you personally. This is Presidential Election time and so first vote for Kovind Jit", Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday replying a media question at Agartala said for Tripura Trinamool MLA Sudip Barman. Giving a new punch to the rumour of Sudip Barman's joining BJP the Minister mentioned, "We will not call personally anyone. But if these talks are so much in the air, then ask Sudip Barman first to vote for our President candidate Ram Nath Kovind". Question was raised when due to Barman, many Trinamool leaders had joined BJP, now why BJP is welcoming him back ? Sharma said, "Basically we need everyone to set a strong dais against Left Front to increase the positive flow of Anti-Left parties, but again there may be few people who may disturb the flow intentionally after joining. But such micro-level things will be fully decided by State BJP".
With this the Minister had indicated that it's wholly up to the state BJP to decide state issues, whereas earlier Biplab Deb said it's also Central BJP for making such important decisions. The Assam Minister also has clarified that nobody is going to call Sudip Barman personally and nothing is like that practically.
Himanta Biswa Sharma had arrived in Tripura on Thursday in a 2 day visit and addressed South Tripura and Sepahijala Districts on Thursday.
In the press conference chaired by Tripura BJP State President Biplab Deb and Pratima Bhowmik, the Minister also promised that Tripura's image will be permanently changed via national media and from now in TV channels Brinda Karat also will be asked about Tripura while she talks about "crime against women", as out of 100 % crimes Tripura's 86 % crimes are against women.
