AGARTALA, June 22 (TIWN): After National commission for Women leader Sushma Sahu has visited Tripura and met the police as well as the victim families a report has been made on it at Centre.
However, during her visit when she talked with Tripura DGP A K Sukla ,she was much vexed after the DGP said, "Crimes are under control in Tripura".
The issue turned critical after she went to the local police stations to inspect the crime records.
Observing a huge number of rape and murder and crime against women's cases, Sahu asked the reasons behind it.
But surprisingly police said, "People in Tripura are much aware now and thus complaints are coming more and NGOs are involved in such awareness campaigns".
With this statement, Sahu asked all the details about the NGOs and she will review how much practical ground work has been done by NGOs.
The National commission for Women leader is coming in Tripura in the next month.
