AGARTALA, June 13 (TIWN): Tripura Pradesh Congress will observe Satyagraha on Wednesday opposing Amit Shah's comment against Mahatma Gandhi as 'Chatir Baniya'. In this regard, Congress to stage a demonstration near Gandhi Statue at Circuit house on Wednesday.
Addressing a press meet, Pradesh Congress President Birjit Sinha said on Monday, 'This is the beginning of our protest. Later, we will conduct more protests across Tripura'.
'Whole world is remembering Mahatma Gandhi when terrorism is hitting the world. In this situation, BJP's comment against him was really shocking. We, Pradesh Congress heavily condemn that issue', Sinha added.
However, Sinha was silent about Kashmir issues and Yechury's anti-national comment against Indian Army.
****BJP National President Amit Shah said Mahatma Gandhi could foretell how things would pan out if the Congress - "a party started by a Briton as an association" - continued to exist after Independence and advocated its dissolution. "Mahatma Gandhi didn't do that (disband the Congress), but now some people are finishing the task of dismantling Congress party".
