AGARTALA / KHUMLWANG, June 3 (TIWN): In demand of Twipraland, N C Debbarma led IPFT sat in hunger strike for 72 hours at Khumlwng.

Around 10 hunger strikers have sat in protest at there in demand of a separate sate 'Twipraland'.

Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura  (IPFT) has been demanding a separate land for Tribals in Tripura covering the ADC areas into a state.

The IPFT, which first raised the demand for a separate state several years ago, has so far failed to garner support even from within the indigenous tribal people, but later a huge number of supporters were gathered in the party.

But recently the IPFT was split into 2 groups : one NC Debbarma led and by  other Budhu Debbarma.

On Saturday, NC Debbarma's team sat in hunger strike for 72 hours in demand of a separate Twipra Land.
