Santirbazar, July 20 (TIWN): Acting on a tip-off raid, a contingent of police of Manpathar police station led by SDPO Santirbazar- Surajit Dhar recovered 450 bottles liquor and 45 packets dendrite worth of Rs 48,220 from Manpathar area, here today. Police could not arrest anybody in this regard, confirmed police.
While speaking to the media, a duty officer of police told that police have been conducting different anti-liquor drives in the different corners of Santirbazar sub-division. As a result a vast number of contraband items were seized by the police in last few months. With an intention to prevent the narcotic items addiction, police will continue anti-liquor drives in the sub-division, he said.
He further added, a large section of youths including aged persons are bitterly addicted to gambling and drugs. And to retain them in normal life, police is playing active role in this regard.
