Agartala, July 19 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar today congratulated the state on the landslide victory of CPI (M) candidates in the three tier panchayat election and said that the poll results only helped to increase commitment of the party to the people.
In an official communiqué from New Delhi this evening, Chief Minister Sarkar said that the elected public representatives must conduct their duties well keeping in mind the responsibility and faith entrusted upon them by the people.
The CM expressed gratefulness to the security personnel, all poll personnel and the State Election Commission for rendering service for peacefull conduction of polls.
Left Front candidates secured victory in 563 Gram Panchayats according to latest reports. The ruling alliance secured majority in all 35 panchayat samities and all eight Zilla Parishads that went to polls.
