AGARTALA, April 27 (TIWN): In the presence of Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar retired justice at HC and the Chairperson of Tripura Police Accountability Commission had taken oath as the new Lokyukta.
Governor Tathagata Roy administered administered the oath of office at a ceremony held in Raj Bhavan. Many high Govt officials remained present on that occasion.
Justice Subal Baidya is well known for his depth of knowledge in Human rights.
It was on Jan 6 that on the seminar of Police Week-2017 Justice Subal Baidya, presently the Chairperson of Tripura Police Accountability Commission said at Rabindra Bhawan that humanity, cooperation and support towards the victim can only create the trust among people about police.
“As public has responsibilities to abide by rules and regulations, same the police has also liabilities to become close to the people and spread awareness about increasing accidents, crime rates of the state”, Baidya said.
“Ended up with Prayas meet, the duty of a police official can not be completed, but police need to become close to the victims”, Baidya said.
“The humanity sense is very much important among police, which will support the victim to get justice”, Baidya added.
“First build the trust about police among the citizen’s mind, then only you can except the cooperation”, the Justice added.
