AGARTALA, April 26 (TIWN): 'Demonetization would be much problematic if modern technology was not with us', said Central IT Minister P P Chaudhury at Agartala citing example about the importance of Technology.
'It's very important to adopt modern technology and develop our skills. Just because we know the use of mobile & internet the demonetization was not a big deal to handle and it went quite smoothly', said the Minister.
'Indian Govt understood that without digital infrastructure development our country will never develop & that is the reason we are expending much for Digital Mission', the Minister added.
On 8 November 2016, the Government of India announced the demonetisation of all Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 banknotes in an attempt to find out black money.
It was also a part of counter attacking Pakistan that allegedly released a huge amount of fake currency to strike India. That's why Demonetization is also called a 'Surgical Strike' led by Govt of India in 2016.
