Agartala, July 17 (TIWN): Security has been tightened all over the state in view of the growing political tension over the counting of votes for three-tier Panchayat polls and repoll in four Gram Panchayat seats and one seat from each of Panchayat Samity and Zilla Parishad across the state.
The police administration has beefed up security measures in the entire Unakoti district for maintaining law and order and to evade any untoward situation after the declaration of Panchayat election results here tomorrow.
High alert has been sounded in various Police Stations of the district, Police outpost and to security forces as well as BSF jawans. They have been ordered to take up maximum security measures.
Additional TSR force has been deployed in each village and market areas. Besides, police would stay standby in white dress at every nook and corner. Police urged the political leaders for taking special initiative to avert any violence after declaration of results.
Also, mobile patrolling arrangements have been undertaken. Police and security personnel would keep patrolling. Police meanwhile have started detaining anti-social persons and conducting raid and operation. Police hopes that the all political party leaders would play active role to maintain peace and discipline.
Today’s repoll concluded peacefully and all precautionary arrangements have been made for smooth and peaceful counting from tomorrow morning.
