Kailasahar, July 17 (TIWN): In a dreadful incident, a man was allegedly killed by his neighbouring people in Dhanbilash area under Kailasahar sub-division centering a dispute over property, last night.
The deceased was identified as Janardhan Malakar, a resident of the said area. He had several conflicts with the neighbouring residents over properties since long period. For that, he also used to abuse the other locals regularly.
But last night the conflict turned into an aggressive situation over the said issue while a team of miscreants allegedly entered into the house of Janardhan and ransacked bamboo fence, back-door and dish antenna. Realising the matter, Janardhan firstly tried to hide himself under the bed and later he escaped from the place.
Of late, the miscreants traced him in a small forest near his house and took him on the nearest road. On the same time, Janardhan was severely beaten up by the miscreants. As a result the victim received grievous injuries on his person and died on the spot.
However, a woman of that area informed police at 1.00 pm, last night. After receiving the information a contingent of police of Kailasahar police station led by SDPO- Manabendra Chowdhury including Officer-in-Charge Sabir Ahmed rushed to the place of occurrence and recovered the body. Later, the body was sent for the post-mortem.
The deceased’s father lodged a written complaint against seven persons at Kailasahar, last night. Based on the complaint, police have arrested seven suspected persons in this regard, last night and produced them before the court today seeking police remand for 7 days. But the court has sent them to 4-day police remand. Police is investigating the matter.
