Agartala, July 15 (TIWN): With the initiative of 8 Bn Assam Rifles, a blood donation camp was conducted at the unit hospital of Kunjaban, outskirts of Agartala, here today. With an effort to give someone life by donating blood, this blood donation camp was organized. A good number of Assam Rifles troops and their families have donated blood in the camp with zeal and enthusiasm.
According to a press release issued by 8 Bn AR, the Chief Secretary- Dr S K Panda attended the camp and appreciated the efforts of 8 Bn Assam Rifles troops for their participation in this dignified and charitable venture. He also appreciated the venture of 8 Bn Assam Rifles for their contribution towards the development and welfare of the people of the state.
In addition, Brig AS Berar, VSM, Commander of 21 Sector Assam Rifles also donated blood to support this noble cause and appreciated the enthusiasm of Assam Rifles personnel in donating blood.
The blood donation camp received overwhelming response from 8th Bn Assam Rifles where 160 units of blood were given to the Blood Bank of G B Hospital, Agartala. Continuing with their tradition of ‘Sentinels of North East’ this blood donation camp is another effort in various welfare programmes organised by Assam Rifles to extend their helping hand to the people of Tripura.
