Dr. S.K.Panda is new Union Textiles Secretary

Agartala, July 14 (TIWN): Tripura's Chief Secretary Dr.S.K.Panda is appointed as Secretary of Ministry of Textiles in Union government. This appointment is cleared by Cabinet committee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Dr. Panda will succeed Zohra Chatterjee as Secretary Textiles in the Government of India on August 1. He is 1980 batch IAS officer of Manipur-Tripura cadre, serving as Chief Secretary of Tripura since 2010.
Official sources said that Chief Secretary Dr S K Panda will leave the state on July 30 next and will take the charge of secretary of Ministry of Textiles on August 1 in New Delhi. Dr Panda’s appointment was approved by Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Senior IAS officer (1980 batch) of Manipur-Tripura cadre Pravin Srivastva will replace Dr S.K.Panda as the new chief secretary of the state. Mr P. Srivastava had embarked on his administrative career in Tripura in the early eighties and rose to become the district magistrate of West Tripura. He shuttled between central and state administration in various capacities and is currently the Member-Secretary of National Monuments Authority (NMA) under ministry of cultural affairs in the rank of joint secretary. His normal tenure in the NMA has ended and he is currently on extension.
