AGARTALA, April 6 (TIWN): After the hawkers protested not to lift their stalls from Sakuntala market's footpaths, Tripura Trafic Dept compromised with traffic jam and amidst crowd on the heart of Agartala City Chaitra sale is going on.
On the occasion of Chaitra bazar, a huge chaos created at Agartala City when the vendors denied to follow Agartala Municipal Corporation rules on last Monday.
Reportedly, till before 2 years the vendors during Chaitra month, used to sit at Agartala Children Park for business during month of Chaitra (the last month in Bengali calender), but for 2 years due to some construction reason the sellers were allowed at Sakuntala footpath to do free business.
But the prime area is affected a huge due to the open market during chaitra sale and traffic rules, the hawkers were asked to go to Children park again from this year.
But this notice had disappointed the hawkers and they ghreaoued AMC as well as blocked the Surya Chowmuhani road at 12 PM, leading huge traffic jam.
However, the hawkers were later taken to Children Park by SDM and via a meeting it was settled down. But the hawkers claimed that neither there are any arrangement done for the hawkers at Children park and when the Chaitra sale started already, how can they make stalls newly. Apart from that the hawkers also have to give rent for the stalls. With all these finally, the Chaitra Bazar is going over the narrow main road of Agartala City creating day night traffic jams for the travelers.
