Agartala, July 8 (TIWN): A jawan of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Adharani group centre, CRPF at Lembucherra, an official source confirmed this evening.
The 37-year-old deceased was identified as Ashok Kumar, a permanent resident of Uttarakhand.
The source said that panic gripped in Adharani group centre in Lembucherra when firing shots were heard by the other jawans around 11.30 am, this morning.
Later, CRPF personnel rushed towards the area and found the constable Ashok Kumar in a pool of blood and he was immediately taken to a doctor who declared him brought dead.
“The actual reason of committing suicide is yet to be ascertained. Before committing suicide the decease was calling someone. We have informed to his family members and they will reach ontomorrow. Police registered a specific case and started investigation”, said an official source over telephone.
