AGARTALA / KAILASHAHAR, March 17 (TIWN): A short circuit has burnt atleast 12 big shops at Kailashahar Central Road, causing more than 50 lakhs of losses to the businessmen there. The incident occurred in the afternoon when in a studio shop named 'Alo-Chaya' due to short circuit suddenly fire sparked out and at a glance it started to burn the whole bazaar. However, immediately 2 fire brigade cars, with huge number of fire force rushed to the spot. From Kailashahar 2 fire vehicles and from Kadamtala 2 vehicles battled to control the fire till evening hours, but already it burnt 12 big shops, causing losses to other shops. The local people also helped the firemen to control the damage. Among those damaged shops studio, pharmacies, mobile shops, bike showrooms were damaged fully along with other small shops / hawkers there. The mass happened when the electrical main post was blasted due to the fire and turned whole Kailashahar into dark-town.
Talking to the power-houses officials at kailashahar, they said, '...it's uncertain when the post will be recovered. Presently, the officials are working to control more damages, if there is any more'.
Govt officials visited the spot and other areas. Reportedly they are also checking whether there is anymore risks or not.
However, no causality was reported from there, but the loss amount can raise upto Rs. 50 lakhs.
This incident is halting internet service, mobile operation, media connectivity with bundles of hectic for the public of Kailashahar.
