AGARTALA, March 14 (TIWN): Wastage of Govt properties are much rampant in Tripura. Kailashahar’s 2 floored hostel ‘Najrul Chartabas o Bisramagar’, which is located in the premises of Kailashahar Court has left paralyzed since long 27 years, but no initiative is taking for its repairment, resulting illegal activities increasing inside the building.

Reportedly, in 1984, 16^th October, the then PWD Minister Bidyanath Majumder had laid the foundation stone of this two floored, 20 bedded hostel. In 1987 it was inaugurated by the same Minister, but after that only 3 / 4 yrs the hostel ran well and then it was stopped with an unknown reason.

Presently, there are huge demands of SC / ST hostels, but due to lack of infrastructure the hostels are delayed. But if Govt wants it can utilize this building at Kailashahar after repairing.

This building is standing at Kailashahar Court premise and it was  built when there was only single hostel at Kailashahar in whole North Tripura. (Kailashahar after Dist diviation is under Unakoti Dist, earlier it was under North Tripura).

Whereas state govt blames the centre for slashing SC / ST funds just because there are huge ‘unutilized funds’, but in actual if it wants there are huge places where it can spend the Central Fund and this Najrul Chartabas o Bisramagar Hostel is such an example.

NITI Ayog dashboard is upsetting CPI-M in Tripura as it has found out the actual utilized fund.Reportedly, due to NITI Aayog out of 1000 crores only 500 crores fund were slashed under SC / ST fund as 40 % of the fund remained non-utilized.

In this condition, such an unutilized building’s existence created much controversy.
