AGARTALA, July 7 (TIWN): Committed for social and economic welfare of the
beneficiaries in the Project villages, the IGDC (Indo – German
Development Cooperation) Project has taken a lead in imparting
assistance to the local administration in tackling with the alarming
situation of malaria infestation.
The available field level human resources of the IGDC Project, such as, Village Community Workers, Block Level Coordinators and Technical Officers, have been pressed into the services through local civil and health administration. Besides, the District Project Director, District Project Officer, Additional Project Officers under the overall direction of the CEO & PD, are supervising the works through field officers.
The Project is also assisting in the organization of the health camps in Project villages for distribution of medicines and taking the patients to the health centers for treatments. Three such camps have already been held at Deo reserve forest, Chichinchhera and S K Para project villages and more are likely to take plance in coming days.Besides, financial assistance for purchase of medicines, mosquito nets, etc. has also been provided by way of Rs. 2 lakh as initial contribution handed over by Dr Honna Reddy, IFS, Districy Project Director, IGDC Project to Dr. Milind Ramteke, IAS, DM, Dhalai on 2nd July 2014.
