Agartala, June 28(TIWN): Passport applicants submitted 489 applications for availing international passports during a three day special passport camp that concluded on Saturday. A delegation of the Regional Passport Office at Kolkata headed by RPO Ekalavya Chakraborty supervised the passport camp held at the civil secretariat in Agartala since June 26, a source in the state passport authority said.
Applicants from the West Tripura district submitted 126 applications on the first day of the camp, 118 applications were filed on the second day. 243 passport applications were filed on the last day of the camp on Saturday.
A highly placed source today said that the Regional Passport Officer expressed discontent at the expanse of publicity regarding the passport camp.
A two day long Passport Mela held in January earlier this year concluded with massive response as over 740 applications were filed during the mela.
Passport Officer from regional Passport Office of Kolkata – Ashish Medda supervised the mela.
