AGARTALA, Dec 21 (TIWN): People in Manu RD Block are going through severe agony in their daily life. Despite having 31 ADC villages under its head, Block Authority is reluctant towards any step ahead in soothing away people’s pain.

Speaking to some of the poverty stricken families, TIWN have tried to bring up the tragic scenario of the Block.

Tanu  Rani Tripura’s family is one of the deprived families in Longtorai.  Her family has been provided voter id card so that votes can be taken, but does not have ration card to get basic identity and necessary rice, sugar and kerosene. Despite casting votes in ADC, Vidhan Sabha and Loksabha, they are deprived of their basic rights.CPI M govt motto is based on the poor and the needy, but in case of Tanu Rani’s family, this motto seemed fake.

Another deprived family is  of Indra Marak .Despite being of age 50 years and a victim of the recent earthquake of Jan 3, when his house developed cracks, his name has not been included in the beneficiaries list under PMAY scheme.

This is the so called “golden era” under CPI M dictatorship of 23 years.
