AGARTALA, Dec 20 (TIWN): CITU held strike on Friday involving issues of Asha, Mid-day meal and Anganwadi schemes.

Through the strike, CITU demanded recognition of workers, minimal wage of 18000 and enough funding in such schemes.

 CITU is  always dumb on anything related to the condition of  Anganwadi, theft in Mid-day meal and negligence in work by Asha.

CITU is never taking any steps against corruption under the specified schemes. Who would answer such questions- how much nutritional and hygienic are meal provided in Mid day meal? How food materials are being looted from the stock of Anganwadi?

Most of the workers under these schemes are being recruited from the close relatives of CPI M where actual needies are being deprived.
