AGARTALA, Dec 16 (TIWN): Tripura government is not taking any steps in implementing water sources across municipal areas. Most of the municipal areas under the progressive smart city is not getting adequate water supply ,and many are abandoned with no proper water supply. People in these areas are either dependent on hand pumps or bore wells.

Recently residents of  Municipal Ward No.-8 had held strike as water supplies were not providing enough water.

Residents of Barjala Ward No.-4 are facing daily toil in gathering water. Speaking to  TIWN correspondent, a resident mentioned that water supply connection were installed on Dec 15,2015, checking was done after more than a year in Jan 2017 and now when these connections would be working in full swing, no one knows.

Rural Tripura is already deprived of water sources, no major step is been taken by Tripura Govt. in helping the majority who had helped them in establishing their 23 years of dynasty across by voting for them in the elections. Monaipathar inhabitants  are having Kakri river as the sole water source.
