Agartala, June 21(TIWN): There is report of yet another clash between BSF troopers of 158 battalions and civilian at Ashram BOP, under Boxanagar police station on Saturday night, sources said. The BSF troopers restored to fire for dispersing the angry crowd when a sub inspector (SI) of the force was reportedly injured. Detail report of the incident is awaited a police official said.
It may be recalled that in a similar incident on June 6, A BSF trooper and a 70-year-old man were killed in a clash between the border guards and villagers along the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura. Eleven people were injured in the incident that occurred at South Ramnagar on the outskirts of state capital Agartala.
Meanwhile, the incident happened when Special DG of BSF, B D Sharma during his visit in Tripura, in a press conference announced that all sector and battalion commanders were told to maintain close relation with border population to prevent repetition of June 6 like any incidents.
