AGARTALA, Jan 15 (TIWN): Recently most of the shops across GB Hospital have stopped providing medicines under RSBY scheme. Hence poverty stricken patients under the scheme are suffering a lot. And the service has been stopped suddenly without any prior information.
Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana is a government-run health insurance scheme for the Indian poor. The scheme aims to provide health insurance coverage to the unrecognized sector workers belonging to the BPL category.
RSB Y provides for cashless insurance for hospitalization in public as well as private hospitals. The scheme started enrolling on April 1, 2008 and has been implemented in 25 states of India.
It has been transferred to Ministry of Health and family welfare from April 1, 2015.
