Agartala, June 20 (TIWN): According to the verdict of Supreme Court, ‘none of the above’ or ‘NOTA’ option would be added in all ballot papers in the forthcoming three-tier Panchayat election. The candidates of different political parties have submitted their nomination papers in the different blocks for contesting the three-tier Panchayat polls and Zilla Parishad election. The State Election Commission today reported this information.
A total of 12 candidates from different political parties under Kumarghat block today tendered their nomination papers to the Kumarghat Block Development Officer (BDO) and Returning Officer (RO) for the three-tier Panchayat polls.
Altogether, 158 nomination papers were submitted in three blocks under Udaipur sub-division. Among them 77 nomination papers have been submitted for Matabari block, 26 for Tepania block and 55 for the Kakraban block.
Four candidates of Indian National Congress party have been tendered their nomination papers to the District Magistrate (DM) and returning Officer of Dhalai district- Milind Ramteke today for contesting in the Dhalai Zilla Parishad election. The total seat number in the Dhalai Zilla Parishad is 9. Among them 4 seats for SC, one for ST and 4 for General are there. The total number of polling centre is 163. A total of 69, 614 enlisted voters are there. This information has been provided by the DM office, Dhalai.
