KAMALPUR, Jan 9 (TIWN): As per pre-scheduled program, Congress women wing today led an anti-demonetization move before the United Bank of India branch, here at Kamalpur. The party workers participated in the move in great numbers. Today’s propaganda was initiated by Mahila Congress and Mahila Congress Block President and other women workers participated. The rally with empty dishes started from the Congress Bhavan. Roaming different parts of the sub-divisional town it reached before the bank branch.
There the party workers shouted protests against demonetization and leaders discussed on the ill effects of demonetization. While discussing on the issue, District Congress President Manoj kanti Deb said, “The decision of demonetization brought about endless plight for the commoners, farmers and unorganized sector laborers. Even people died in the queues before banks and ATMs. But, the situation not became normal even after 50 days mark. And the country suffered an economic loss of 2 lakh crore rupees. And BJP leaders are being nabbed with crores of new currency notes. Congress would continue move against it.”
PCC Member B. K. Chatterjee. Women leader Bela Paul, Indubhusan Goala were among other leaders who discussed on the issue.
