AGARTALA, Jan 7 (TIWN) : Tripura Govt. to launch a special vaccination drive against Japanese Encephalities (JE) from Jan 9 till Jan 22 in three districts: Khowai, Sepahijala and West Tripura.

There have been cases related to JE across all districts of Tripura.  Health experts opine there is no cure for JE, only vaccination  can prevent it.

 In a special drive, children in the age of 1-15 will be administered the JE vaccine in three districts. Another four  districts-Unakoti, Gomati,Dhalai and South Tripura to be included under the scheme.

 At a press meet held on Saturday by Health and Family Planning Dept. PRO Ranjit Debbarma  mentioned the initiative.
