AGARTALA, Jan 5 (TIWN): Tripura DGP K Nagaraj held a press meet on the diminishing crime rate across the state on Wednesday .He quoted that a total of 4048 cases registered during 2016 against 4864 cases in 2015.In a target to his babbles, opposition MLA Sudip Roy Barman has raised question on the efficiency of the SIT functioning under Nagaraj.
As stated by Nagaraj, “Property offences were downed by 17%, crime against women by 21%, bodily offences by 11% and motor accident causes by 14% during 2016 s compared to 2015”.
The original data is being fiddled to show the diminishing crime rate in the state. He did not bring forth that nearly 75% cases are dumped under file and there is a myriad of unregistered cases with crime increasing at an alarming rate.
