PANISAGAR / AGARTALA, Jan 5 (TIWN): MGNREGA & JICA corruption continue even after the warnings of the Central Govt’s on State RD Dept’s inept handling of external funds. Organized corruption has marred Tripura’s development. Whereas CM Manik Sarkar during his Anti-BJP speeches cries over the cutdown of MGNREGA funds, on the other hand Rs. 12 lakhs sanctioned under JICA and MGNREGA for a check-dam project only left with a signboard. Every details are visible in that signboard, which the deadline of the work is also over for the project but no sign of work-progress is visible there. Reportedly for a check-dam construction Rs. 3 lakhs were taken from JICA, whereas Rs.9 lakhs had given by the Central govt under MGNREA, noticing along with the deadline of work-completion between 2015-16 FY, under the observation of I/ O of the project is B Sawachi at Bagbasa, Panisagar.
But the work left with zero-progress, mocking at the concept of Developing state Tripura.
TIWN correspondent visited the spot physically and held a talk with the farmers there. According to the local people only a culvert has been dedicated by Tripura RD Dept. for the cultivation there, whereas the irrigation process has remained as same as earlier.
Now question can be easily put before Manik Sarkar who often claims that under his Golden Era, so call ‘Peaceful State’ is developing like anything.
All these notorious activities had led the Central Govt to launch Geo-tracking, cutting of MGNREGA funds for Tripura and taking back the award given to the Govt. for MGNREGA scam.
Whereas under JICA project states like West Bengal has developed itself to a great extend, on the other hand Tripura year after year has looted JICA funds like anything.
Days are not far away when Manik Sarkar will begin to scream over the Japan Govt too, when it will stop JICA investment in Tripura.
Question raised..’if from a single project the fund-looting level extends to 12 lakhs what about the overall scenario in whole Tripura?’
