AGARTALA, Jan 3 (TIWN): Tension grippd Tripura after 5.5 Magnitude Earthquake hits state with epicentre in Dhalai (Kumarghat) area.
Reportedly, earthquake occurred at 2. 39 PM of Magnitude:5.5, (Occurred on:03-01-2017, 14:39:03 IST, Lat:24.1 N & Long: 91.9 E) with the Depth: 16 KM, Region: ,Tripura.
With the earthquake held here, tension among the common people raised high.
People started to run out of home after the earthquake shocks were majorly felt. Tension still prevails as after-shocks are being felt till now.
Being located close to the Himalayan region, Tripura is prone to natural hazards as earthquakes, landslides and floods are hitting the state regularly.
In 2016 state witnessed atleast 5 earthquakes, but state’s disaster management although very much trained, but has been proven unhelpful in emergency times.
