KAMALPUR, Dec 29 (TIWN): “The Youth Congress should be strengthened against addiction, corruption and anti-national activities. Women wing must move against women related crimes. NSUI, Block Congress and the entire PCC must move against leftist misrule and atrocities of the Centre on common people.†proposed PCC President Birajit Sinha at PCC’s special meet at Kamalpur Town Hall, on Wednesday.
He further added that, “Congress should stir the roads in the interests of the peasants, unemployed youths, against corruption, plight of the laborers, for compensation of chit fund depositors, for timely payment of MGNREGA wages.” Today Birajit presented 10 point charter for strengthening the party and PCC adopted the proposal. He also announced that, the “Booth Chalo” program would be completed within January. He also demanded that, the people who were adversely affected for the barbed wire border fencing should get the compensation early.
The special meet was held on the occasion of 131st Foundation Day celebration of Congress party. At the same time, a special political convention of Ambassa district Congress was also held. In that meet, the party President called all those who left the party and joined TMC to return back to the party. It might be mentioned here that, the program of Congress ignited a ray of hope among the party supporters and workers. Though BJP called 12 hours’ strike put a restrain to the program, still thousands of workers took part in the meet from different parts of the districts. It is for the first time in the history of PCC that, the party observed any state level program outside capital city.
