AGARTALA, June 15 (TIWN): District Magistrate (DM), West district Abhishek Singh would conduct public hearing on the clash between BSF personnel and local resident at Dakshin Ramangar leading to death of two persons in the conference hall of DM office here tomorrow.
Interested persons could join the public hearing to narrate the sequence of the fatal incident.
It is expected people from Dakshin Ramnagar area would remain present to loge complaint against the BSF personnel leading to the untoward incident.
Earlier, the DM along with other officials visited the spot and recorded statements of nine BSF personnel including Company Commander and son of slain civilian- Ismile Miah.
After conducting the public hearing, the DM would submit his report before government on the incident. Side by side, the BSF authority has also ordered Commandant level inquiry into the incident.
A BSF jawan was lynched by villagers after a man was killed in alleged firing by the security personnel during a clash which broke out near the Indo-Bangla border on June 6.
The BSF personnel were attacked by villagers while they were chasing smugglers during a routine patrol last night prompting them to open fire in "self defence" at South Ramnagar, located two km from here.
After the incident, the entire contingent of BSF was withdrawn and new company had been deployed at Akhaura BOP which keeps vigil South Ramanagar area too.
