AGARTALA, Dec 10 (TIWN): National School of Drama kicked off 6 day long drama-festival in Tripura. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar after inaugurating the programme calls everyone to come everyday Rabindra Bhawan to see the performances of various artists.
Sanjoy Kar organizer of the programme and Sanjeeb Kumar, Chairman of National School of Dramas called for utilize the potentiality of Tripura in the field of drama.
Sanjeeb Kumar said, “In Tripura there are excellent auditoriums, but it’s matter of sad, somewhere we are unable to achieve the target”.
Assembly Deputy Speaker Pabitra Kar blames the modernization of society and young stars attraction towards digital move are responsible for such a poor condition of art and culture here.
K R Chowdhury was awarded by great dramatist award by the Chief Minister himself and Alam Ahmed who is from Udaipur and belongs to Rabindra Parishad was awarded with Nandadulal Smriti award by Ratan Thiyam, an Indian great artist.
Ratan Thiyam also said, on the one hand technology is giving us car, money but on the other hand the new kind of civilization is emerging, who keeps interest in computerized data given by internet but no interest for books.
“E-reading has caused heavy losses to books popularity”, Thiyam added.
CM appealed for the success of the programme and urged everyone to fill the auditorium everyday.
