Agartala, June 11 (TIWN): The state government yet again blamed the XIII Finance Commission responsible for the deprivation of state government employees from Dearness Allowance (DA) and Central pay scale. Demands were placed for allotment of 90:10 in case of central schemes.
The Central Government in the coming days is likely to submit complete finance budget. Before placing the budget, Central Minister for Finance Arun Jaitley called a meeting in Delhi recently along with Finance Ministers of the state. In the meeting held at Asoka Hotel in Delhi, Minister for Finance Bhanulal Saha attended the meeting on behalf of the state where a few charter points of demand over the economic system of the state was placed, though the demands were old. The state government previously brought the issues under the attention of Central government.
The proposal submitted by the state government revealed the deprivation of XIII FC. At the very beginning of the discussion, the state government was asked to provide the state government employees equal pay scale like Central’s sixth pay scale. The state’s Minister for Finance stated that they are not able to provide sixth pay scale to its employees alike Centre due to XIII FC. Besides, Saha focused on the deducted gap grant funding before the Centre.
Among the highlighted issues on behalf of the state government, special significance was given on allotted amount of 90:10 under Central scheme. Apart from that, state’s lack of basic infrastructure, hike in the price of daily essential commodities, health service, agriculture, unemployment and other topics were also focused on.
