AGARTALA, Nov 23 (TIWN): Kerosene selling in black market has went high in state.
Govt. to take initiatives to control the black marketing of fuel, said sources.
Kerosene is the fuel that lights the stoves of some of the poorest families across Tripura. But the price of the fuel is heavily subsidised by the government and it can only be sold through the Public Distribution System.
In Tripura corruption and irregularities in the kerosene distribution system has given rise to a thriving black market where it is sold at almost double the fair price.
But Kerosene is selling in black market and using illegally.
The families that could afford the high prices made the shift to the fuel while the poorest still rely on firewood.
