Santirbazar, June 9 (TIWN): Transport Minister Manik Dey inaugurated the office of the District Transport Office (DTO) of South Tripura District at Santirbazar on Monday. Among others in the programme the Chief Guest was Hon’able jail Minister Sri manindra Reang,Other Guests were Himanshu Roy, MLA Jasbir Tripura, MLA Basudeb Majumder, MLA Sudhan Das, MLA Rita kar. Santirbazar Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Smt Maya Bhattacherjee.

This office will start functioning in a portion of the building of the office of Santirbazar Sub-Divisional Magistrate  office.

After the inauguration of this office, the residents of different blocks of South Tripura District  will not have to goto transport office at Gomati for any work related to their bikes and vehicles.

Tripura government in view of the increased vehicles, it has been decided to open three new District Transport Authority (DTO) offices in the state. New DTO office to be opened at Bisramganj for Gomati district and Santirbazaar for South Tripura. Each year about one lakh new vehicles are being registered.

So it has been decided to open a three DTO at remaining three districts.

South Tripura District HQ(Belonia) people are not happy as they have to move 18 KM from District HQ i.e Belonia for any work related to their bikes and vehicles.
